How to Sign Up:
Counselors will be meeting with students during February to discuss their course selection for next year. During this meeting, counselors will sign up students for any classes they may have earned a D or F in from last semester. Starting in March, parents must login to Parent Connect to confirm the Summer School classes. We will message families when we closer in March. Counselors will continue to sign up students through the end of the semester as they track and monitor student's Semester 2 grades.
Who Qualifies: *Updated*
- Next year's 9-12th grade students who have a D or F in any class may take Summer School for credit recovery.
- Next year's 9-12th grade students with impacted schedules may take History, PE, Art, or for initial credit in Summer School if they qualify (must be in AVID, CTE, or all AP classes).
- Next year's 9-12th grade student may take Health.
- Any current 12th graders who did not meet the CNUSD graduation requirement (will attend Independent Study at Centennial High).
- Current 8th graders may ONLY take AVID Bridge, EL Bridge, and SpEd Bridge classes. They may NOT take any courses for initial credit to get ahead. See below...
Summer Boost/Bridge (Current 8th Graders)
- Dates: June 8 - June 30
- Times: same as High School
- Locations: Centennial High and Roosevelt High
- Courses Offered: AVID, ELD, and Special Education (may not take any high school courses for initial credit.)
- How to Sign Up: wait for instructions provided by your school or the district office. High School counselors do not have access.
