Overview

Look beyond the horizon
As part of the Corona High STEM Academy, our Aviation Pathway is the only Aviation program in the Corona-Norco Unified School District.  Corona High Aviation is a great way to get started toward making your dream of a career, or a lifetime of enjoyment in aviation a reality.  Under the guidance of an FAA Certified Flight Instructor and an Air Force Veteran, you are sure to get the aviation and aerospace education you have been looking for.

Year 1 

Launching into Aviation

This is the initial course for the pathway.  The course is part of the AOPA High School STEM Curriculum.  The first semester is called Launching Into Aviation, and the second semester is called Exploring Aerospace and Aviation.   The course is a broad overview of all things 

Year 2 

Introduction to Flight

This is the second course in the pathway.  The course is also part of the AOPA High School STEM Curriculum.  The first semester is called Introduction to Flight, and the second semester is called Aircraft Systems and Performance.  Students will use simulators and drones in this course.  View the course outline HERE.  

Year 3

Aviation 1A

This is the third course in the pathway.  The course currently uses Jeppesen Private Pilot materials as well as King Schools and Sporty's Private Pilot course materials.  The course is heavily focused on the Private Pilot Knowledge Test.  Students will use simulators and drones in at a high level in this course.

Electives

The above pathway is in place to grant pathway completion to those who successfully finish all courses.  If a students wants to take a course solely as an elective, he or she is welcome to do so, as long as there is room in his/her schedule as well as room in the course.  A minimum GPA of 2.0 is required to enter the courses or the pathway.  Check with your counselor and let him/her know your intentions.
